The concept is based on a process of mechanical breakdown. A sample of fat is taken from the patient and put through a series of incredibly small filters and blades. The blades homogenize the sample so that only the desired cellular components can pass through the fifty-micron filters.
During this process, many undesired proteins are left on the other side of the filter, leaving only pericytes, mastocytes and various types of stem cells at the bottom of the machine, where the cellular product is made available. From there it can be administered directly to the patient by injection.
